How to fight backstage

Help me out here guys. I've been playing this game with friends a LOT lately and I KNOW you can fight backstage in many different rooms. The problem is, even when we set up the match as an exhibition, with hardcore rules and no count out...we get "stopped" when we try to go up the ramp. Nothing is blocking us, but we can't move up the ramp...let alone go backstage.

Are we doing something wrong? Is there one specific match type that allows this? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

In order to fight backstage, you must irish whip your opponent (grapple then C down) towards the ramp. That will take you to the stage at the top of the ramp. To get backstage, irish whip again through the curtain. You will be in a hallway with weapons. There are doorways on either side that you can irish whip the opponent through to enter. There is a pool hall, a boiler room, and a parking lot, I think.
