In Halloweentow 1 and 2 marnie's last name is cromwell and then in halloweentown 3and 4 it's marnie piper. How come?

Cromwell is Marnie's mother's (Gwen) maiden name, as well as that of her matronymic grandmother (Aggie). Piper is Marnie's father's name.
