Not knowing he was stabbed
It's common for a stab wound not to be noticed by the stabbee until someone else points it out. I've had it happen to me and also seen it happen to other people. It feels like a dull punch.

I thought he was injected with something too, but my friends said they thought he was stabbed because of the blood. But what was curious was that he was stabbed (or injected?) near the kidney. Now, if he had been bleeding in his urine, perhaps something happened to his body to produce that blood. Just a thought, but it seems an odd coincidence. I think the doctor was involved, because he would have known what spot on Eli's body was the most vulnerable.
