They NEED to make a sequel

I saw this online and it was remarkably very well made. It said "chronicles" but you would think since the movie was made in 2001 that a second one would have already been made. My take it that it didn't do very well on, probably Sci-Fi, channel on TV. But, I don't see how it can hurt.

Hopefully, the writers will read some of the request of people here and make another one. There were a few things that I found interesting.

One thing I thought was interesting that I am not sure anyone caught was the ship name "Marie Celeste." There really was a ship called the Marie (Mary) Celeste, it's also the name of a movie with Bela Lugosi about passengers on a ship that just "disappear." You see it as the ship crash lands on the "Forbidden Islands" of the mermaids, merpeople. Another was that if an old, former Sailor tells you that he will not sell you something at any price and mentions something about "danger" then why on earth would anyone be so stupid.

There seems to be a lot about the little girl at the end. I ask that you remember the beginning when the old man explains about a "fertility" goddess or symbol. It would follow that the "mermaid" gave a gift to Lily because she was the only one who thought they should let her go and tried to protect her and even tried to set her free. The mermaid obviously "charmed" her so to speak, a gift as she saw it.

It is hard to say why the mermaid fed on humans other than it was in their nature as Lily says in the movie. People would like to believe that mermaids are beautiful, but when you think of it, they may be quite ugly with gills and having more qualities of some types of fish. It could be they are carnivores and need to "hunt" and eat what they kill. The end where the ship's crew is fed to the other merfolk, I wonder if it was some sort of "gift" or celebration of her homecoming.

There are many legends about mermaids, or merfolk and they do have a duality of being beautiful and deadly to anyone who threatens one, which is why I think Lily was not hurt. I think Angus would have lived if he didn't try and kill her.

I think a sequel may be wrong, but a series. Lily does say that she met her again. There is nothing I can find on google that indicates that mermaids preferred men as they may be more protectors of women.

But, I do hope they make another movie about this particular mermaid, hopefully a series. I think it is loosely based on some novel or graphic novel.
