Hellseeker vs. Inferno

So I just got my 6-disc Lament Configuration box set and Im watching 5 & 6 again, looked them both up here and see that Inferno seems to have much higher praise than Hellseeker which I am utterly confused at. I created a thread on that board as well. Inferno had some of the worst acting Ive ever seen and the plot didnt seem to follow the series AT ALL. Hellseeker had great acting, great cinematography, OK special effects (its worst feature actually), awesome plot, and even the music used was very reminiscent of the original series. I thank Rick Bota for really bringing the series back to what it should be. Anyone want to share some thoughts on the matter?

Praise Bota now, but wait till you see Hellworld.

You'll want to personally crucify and castrate for what he did to the series.

Hopelessly in love with Uma Thurman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Emmy Rossum

What exactly did Bota do?

Get hired to make TWO Hellraiser films with just the script for Deader done? Go out of his way and behind the backs of his producers to get Clive Barkers imput and improval? Go to romania with JUST Deader. Had the script for Hellwrodl written whislt out there by the guy who did the original (poor) draft of Hellseeker? Have no time or money and made the film that had no preperation. Who again got Barker's imput on elements.

Rick Bota not only got in huge trouble with a producer by sneaking a copy of Hellseeker to barker but then continued to not only get Barkers thoughts buit to act on them. Hewllworld is not his fault alone and I have little to fault in much of the direction.

Bota made Deader, a fantastic ressurection and a high note to end on, and he brought back Kirsty in Hellseeker and worked with Doug and Ashley on it. He respects the fans and wants to please them. Sadly Hellworld is a result of listening to the general horror fans who want the Cenobites killing rather than the fans who love the mythology around the series.

It's basically the same movie with just the slight twist of Kirsty making her deal. If you remove her from the equation altogether and the guy in Hellseeker just opened the box himself, it would be pretty much the same thing.

By the way, I am right behind you.

Inferno sucked.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾

I like both, but Inferno was better in my opinion. Hellseeker was basically Inferno redone, but with a less than interesting protagonist.
