Ian Brown + Mani perform 'I am the Resurrection' at benefit gig !!!!

Went to the Versus Cancer benefit gig at the MEN arena in Manchester on Friday night. This was the second gig organised by former Smiths Bass player, Andy Rourke & follows last year's which was headlined by New Order (who did a Joy Division set).

This years gig invoved Echo & the Bunnymen - who were joined onstage by Hooky to do Ceremony. Next up were The Charlatans, who were joined onstage by Paul Weller for A Town Called Malice.

Noel Gallagher headlined with a superb semi-acoustic set, backed up by a 10 p/c all female string section, finishing with - Don't Look Back in Anger, which brought the house down.

But - once again the best was saved for last, when for the finale, ian Brown was joined onstage by former bandmates Mani & Cressa (the dancer) for a heart bursting rendition of I am the Resurrection, helped out by all 16,000 audience members - it nearly took the roof off !!

Possibly one of the greatest gigs that Manchester has ever seen , & now I can't wait for next years....

Was an absoloutly belting performance By all in that last performance. The solo stuff by Ian was below par to say the least.
Glad he redeemed himself with "I am The Resurrection

GreATEST piece of "popular" music ever, after I listen to it I feel I can do just about anything, overcome anything, be anything.
