I hated that show, no wonder it got cancelled.
Yancy Butler has a HEINOUS voice, the kind you expect to come from either a crackwhore a spawn of satan.
All that booze probably burned her vocal chords beyond recognition.
I was a fan of the comicbook (before it turned to crap) and was actually looking forward to the series.
Nottingham, who always looked slick with an Armani suit and a samurai sword was wearing a BEANIE HAT in the first TV episode. What the hell? From an Armani suit to a goddamn BEANIE HAT? And don't get me started with a main "attraction" Yancy Butler. For me to be even REMOTELY attracted to that woman I would have to eat at least 10 viagra pills and plug my ears with industrial glue.
Director, writer, and a casting director of these TV series, all deserve to get a once-swing-triple-slap accross their faces, "3 Stooges style", for their incompetence.

ur crazy yancy was HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean check out her photo gallery here at imdb. the lady is like...she puts angelina jolie to shame. as her voice goes...it didnt bother me. i would rather hear a woman with a husky voice than an annoying little squeky one.

second! yancy is HOT! She looks pretty average when she's in serious cop mode with her hair tied back, I've only watched a little bit of the pilot so far but she looks pretty sweet in the nightclub scene. Oh yeah and definately Husky over squeaky, It goes with the character too, if you want a tuff chick, she has to look/sound the part! She cant be too feminine!

Also a while ago we were watching Babylon 5 and one of my friends was disgusted with Claudia Christian's thick eyebrows... Every1 was like that's ridiculous whatever.. who cares, probably because we had watched a fair bit of the show and grown to like the character.

Well Yancy's eyebrows were a little distracting i have to say... but who cares I'd still take her :)

Hey I'm not a proponent of squeaky voices, but there is just something unsettling about a woman with a voice so raspy, it makes Al Pacino sound like a ten year old girl.

well i think i watched the show too much cuz now her voice doesnt even bother me...its a bit husky at times but for alot of guys thats a turn on oddly. personally upon watching the film her voice horrified me but after about 2 episodes it sounded normal. but i still defend the ladies looks.

theres no way your saying that isnt the least bit attractive.
and i have heard alot worse female voices than ms. butlers.....but ten years down the line....hmmm...i can see her voice being unsettiling....smokers. lol

eyebrows are hot if shaped correctly neither yancy's nor claudias bother me...it use to be common with all of the older stars...now its veiwed as ugly cuz it isnt the norm. now ppl shave their brows off and stencil them in. i find that gross.

I'm beginning to understand why the show was cancelled.
All those puberty-ridden Buffy fans being irked by anything that doesn't resemple a WASP cheer leader with a voice like a Smurf on helium.

Yancy..., you're well out of it, woman.

hmm.... ever occured to you that you might be a fashion victim? in this show, for the record, NORMAL people appear, not some ugly anorexic, gym cocained gosts of buffy type! jesus... some people are really blind...

I totally agree with the author, SHE WAS DISGUSTINGLY UGLY. And hahaha, I totally agree about the voice too, It bothered me really, everytime I saw this show I wanted to puke all over her. Lets thank god for cancelling the worst show of all time.

Yes, I really hate this show and i'm here bashing at the forum because i'm so *beep* pissed about this crappy show, I just have to express my anger somewhere.

I agree completely, this show is so bad that I get a strong urge to Goodge my eyes out every time a see it on TV!
And nothing gets even the list bit better by casting the worst actress ever for the lead role, Yancy Butler/Sara Pezzini is one of the worst actress's I have ever seen on a TV show, the girl only have 2 facial expression! If you lock closely at Yancy Butler's face you will discover that she NEVER changes her facial expression, she locks the same in every scene, like she is sad and is about to cry but there is something that's preventing her from doing it! I have only seen her do 1 additional facial expression, and that is extreme happiness, she did in the episodes where she just have hade sex, and she smiles to the guy. Other then that I have never seen her express real human emotions on screen! I now what some of you "Withblade" fans are going to say, "she is a cop, she hafts to have a straight face to do her job.", but she is not only a "emotional rock" in the job/cop scenes, she is a "emotional rock" even when she is home or doing none cop scenes! Lock for yourself, just watch any "withblade" episode and lock closely at Nancy/Sara's facial expressions and you will see for yourself!!!

Yancy jsut so happend to win awards from her acting in witchblade over such people as Jessica Alba and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Have you seen her in other roles? She can act. Not to mention the fact that she is hot as hell.
