TERRIBLE TERRIBLE MOVIE
How can anyone take this movie seriously? I suppose it started out OK, but c'mon. The acting was bad, the dialogue was embarassing, and the direction was as stupid. It was the typical "trying to be smart and cool" movie just wasn't smart nor cool. The angles and shots were simple and cliche, nothing new or artistic, and the big bad "cons" that are made throughout the movie are laughable and cheesy. The scene where he "totally outsmarts" the guy to get a job was awful. "WOW man!! YOU SURE GOT HIM!!!"(sarcasm). You just have to roll your eyes at this garbage. I love the looks on the people when they supposedly get conned, as if they would actually feel outsmarted. A reaction from any real person would just be, oh, about the complete opposite. How can you take this serious?
So much many of the scenes just made no sense. The whole thing with the friends doing god knows what, the guy who gets the girl that likes to be beaten up or choked, how did this have anything to do with the movie? I guess it was supposed to be comic relief, but it just didn't work.
Even though everyone I was watching this trash with wanted to turn it off halfway through, I still had some belief it would redeem itself somehow. I lost all hope when the movie cut to the kid brother trying to play music at the bar. Worthless scene that just made no sense at all. We proceeded to watch the rest of the movie amused at how bad it was, only because we had already wasted enough time watching it anyway.
Walken couldn't even save this movie. His acting was so over the top that it was obvious to me that he knew it was garbage, and just made a joke out of his own image. I was honestly embarassed for him.
The main guy, I dunno his name, "Walter" from "Kalifornia", was miserable. I wanna be Affleck that failed, which is pretty bad considering Affleck isnt even all that great. Its even worse he wrote and directed this.
A truely terrible movie and I'm baffled at the fact people actually ate this stuff up.
