So on thanksgiving day, I was hanging out with my family in Escondido, CA. Of course I heard about the sci-fi channel's monster movie marathon, but it seemed to good to be true. Luckily my uncle had cable, so I flipped straight to the sci-fi channel. The first movie that was on was octopus II, it was stunning, amazing visual effects, great acting, and a creative plot. And you know how in all monster movies with amphibious sea creatures, they get blown up(I.E. jaws, they shoot the air tank in the shark's mouth) they decided to change it up for a pace. Instead of making any sense, they just shot it with a harpoon, and the octopus blew up? I totally wasn't expecting it. of yeah, the movie really sucked, but its good for tons of laughs, and if you want to watch an even worse movie, go watch crocodile, its hilarious beyond belief.

oh well, it was the kind of movie that was supposed to suck, so it's all good.

Amazing special effects? The octopus was crappy CGI and phoney rubber tentacles, the fight between the octopus and the crane was awful. The statue of liberty dream was poorly done.

It was horrible.

How dare you people slate a perfectly good movie... much better than all this 'Saw' crap!

Have any of you actually seen a real-life killer octopus, because if not then you are in no position to question the appearance of such killer-octopus!

The cast was fantastically assembed, and the fact that none of these prestigious actors are well-known, just adds to the film's authenticity.

However, I must concede that I do have one regret with the film, and that is the finale. Although harpoons are designed to explode upon impact on killer-octopuses, this should not have been the end of the movie. As most people know, these creatures only exist in 'packs' and in a real-life situation, there would have been more octopii to del with!

I thought this movie was quite good (well better than I expected I mean) in the beginning, but after the first hour it went kinda down. Especially the last fight.

I bought this film on VHS probably the same year it was released, and didn't mind it. I watched it again earlier this month for probably the first time in ages. And my opinion is still the same. Not great, but certainly better than the 2.7 rating it has here on IMDb.
