Series Finale Idea

Since the show didn't get a proper farewell episode back in 2005, I came up with a finale show they could've used.

An Hour Long Finale

TITLE: Michael Says Goodbye
DIRECTED BY: Damien Dante Wayans
SPECIAL GUEST STARS:
Katt Williams
David Alan Grier (from In Living Color and Blankman)
Keenan Ivory Wayans
Shawn Wayans
Marlon Wayans
John Witherspoon
Kim Wayans
Jazz Raycole (the original Claire)
Lester Speight
Ella Joyce

PLOT:
After retiring and selling the trucking business to Bobby Shaw (Katt Williams), Michael feels something is missing in his life. His annoying friend Jimmy (David Alan Grier) comes by and announces he got a large inheritance from a recently deceased uncle and tells how he wants Michael and Jay to leave Connecticut and move with him and his new wife (Kim Wayans) to Miami. Jay is hesistant because this means they would have to sell the house and begin a new life.

Meanwhile, Junior's cartoon "My Wife and Kids" is getting higher and higher ratings each week and Comedy Central wants to pick up the series the next TV season. This means he will have to move to New York where Comedy Central headquarters is. Junior and Vanessa are thrilled but they are having trouble telling Michael and Jay, fearing their reaction.

Claire and Tony's high school graduation is coming and they are uncertain about the future of their relationship. They are going to two seperate colleges.

Franklin's dad got a job opportunity in Paris and they are definitely moving soon. Franklin and Kady will have to say farewell to each other and put a strain on their "relationship".

Later, Michael tells everyone about their decision to go with Jimmy and his wife to Miami. He also announces that they're selling the house, which upsets Jay who gets up in tears and leaves the room. Junior tells him about Comedy Central picking up the sitcom and they are moving to New York. Tony tells Claire he wants to break up, and Franklin tells Kady that he's moving away. The girls are distraught and they both leave the room. Junior Jr. starts crying and Vanessa leaves the room to go check on him.

This leaves Michael and Junior in the room together and they have a nice heart-2-heart father-2-son talk.

Later, Michael shows the house to potential buyers which includes an old pimp (John Witherspoon), a rap duo (Shawn and Marlon Wayans) and lastly Bobby Shaw. Bobby Shaw wants to buy the house ever since he won the lotto and bought Michael's business. Bobby reveals he always was jealous of Michael's success and maybe he can try to have a little bit of what he has. Michael agrees to sell the house to Bobby.

Elsewhere, Claire is too upset over breaking up with Tony. Tony comes by and has a talk with Claire to settle the tension. They agree to just be friends. However, Tony admits that he'll always love her. Claire replies that she'll feel the same. Tony exits. (his final scene).

Franklin is about to move away, so he comes by to say goodbye to the Kyles. Kady is too angry to speak to him. Franklin plays a nice little song for her on the piano, which makes Kady cry and she runs to her room. Franklin follows her upstairs and talks to her. He gives her his most prized possesion, his Rolex watch. Kady gives him one of her favorite dolls. Kady quickly gives Franklin a kiss on the lips (their first kiss with each other and overall). Franklin says goodbye and before he exits, Kady rushes downstairs and tells him she loves him. He says it back and then he leaves (bye-bye Franklin, LOL).

Junior and Vanessa begin to pack up their things and look for an apartment in New York.

Claire accepts that she and Tony are over and decides to move on with her life (she is shown to be happy for the rest of the episode).

Before they move, Jay asks Michael for one last dance in the house.

In the final scene of the series, Michael, Jay, Junior, Claire, Kady and Vanessa stand in the middle of the living room. Calvin (Lester Speight), Vanessa's dad carries some of the furniture out to help out the movers. Jasmine (Ella Joyce), Vanessa's mom says goodbye to everyone and exits along with Calvin. A young female mover (Jazz Raycole, the original Claire) evily looks at Claire and says she reminds her of someone she used to know.

Vanessa and the baby exit after taking one last look around the house, and before exiting she thanks Michael for everything he's done for her.

Michael tells Jay, Junior, Claire and Kady how much he loves all of them. And gives a reason why he loves them.

Kady and Claire exit to go wait outside. Claire will be staying with Ken (Keenan Ivory Wayans), Michael's brother until graduation in 2 weeks.

Michael tells Junior how he never thought he was stupid and how proud he is to see the man he has become. A tearjerker moment between the father and son.

Junior tells Michael and Jay he loves them and exits.

Lastly, Michael and Jay are left alone.

Jay tells him how she's going to miss living in the house and how much joy the house brought to her. She also says that she's grateful to have him as a husband and to have three wonderful kids and a grandchild.

They share one last kiss in the house and Jay exits.

Michael looks around the house one last time. To himself (kinda breaking the fourth wall) he says "My Wife and Kids---and that's a wrap".

A montage of clips from seasons 2-5 (excluding season 1 due to Jazz Raycole's presence in S1) play for about 50 seconds.

Michael puts on his jacket, walks towards the door, turns off the lights, closes the door and a thunderous applause from the audience ends the five season run of "My Wife and Kids"

During the final end credits, a few screencaps from throughout the series (seasons 2-5) play until the credits end.

That would ahve been a good idea. It's like a mixture of the series finlaes of the Cosby Show and Fresh Prince.

That will probley be the most touching thing I've seen on a sitcom since 8 Simple Rules, the episode when John Ritter passed.
