Twelfth Night

Does anybody else notice the extreme similarities between this plot and that of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night? Surely they got some of their ideas from this. If so (and I'm betting that's the case,) then why didn't they give him credit?

And if you're gonna say I'm wrong and it's nothing like Twelfth Night, then try to tell yourselves that Andi isn't Viola/Cesario, and Faryn isn't an Olivia, and so forth. You have to admit, there is a likeness. I had practically forgotten this movie until I was trying to think of a modernized version of Twelfth Night (like Ten Things I Hate About You was for Taming of the Shrew) and this movie suddenly sprang to my mind.

if u look at the info it says that the working title was "The Twelfth Lap", the connection ur probably looking for while comparing it to "The Twelfth Night"

The movie "She's the Man" is based on Twelfth Night.

Yeah, main characters even have the same names, ie. Viola, Olivia, etc.

Dear me! What is that unpleasant aroma? I fear the sewer may have backed up during the night.

They don't have to give him credit. Shakespeare and the Bible give modern storytelling most of their themes, so if everyone credited their work then a lot of movies and books and stuff would have to give credit.

Was just thinking about this for some random reason. This movie is absolutely based on Twelfth Night. The working title even proves it.
