I know I'm probably grasping at straws here, but does anyone know where I can find some photos of the real 'Genie'? I've been searching the web for a while now, and only found one single photo... and a very small one at that. (On www.feralchildren.com)

I saw about two thirds of a documentary on TV a few months ago (purely coincidental, after zapping around for a while), and just finished reading Russ Rymer's book (which has a somewhat better photo on the cover), so I know that Genie was filmed A LOT, and presumably also photographed quite a bit. Surely SOMEONE out there has published some photos on the web?

I want to dedicate a page on my homepage to Genie. Would be a bit dull without at least one good photo...

Also, I just looked up Susan Curtiss' book "Genie: A Psycholinguistic Study" at amazon.de (and .com). Any chance of getting it for a LITTLE less than 191,91 EUR anywhere?

To be a "loser" takes years of dedicated ineptitude.

check out the NOVA program on Genie, there is some video and a few pics of her playing with baloons and what not.

also i beieve there was only one photo ever published in the la times of Genie and one of her dad and brother

I've got a grand total of three photos by now. Maybe there really aren't any more. I wish they'd show either of the two documentaries on TV over here (Germany). No such luck so far, though...

Thanks! I completely lost track of this topic. Didn't realise they've released that doco on DVD now. I'll definitely look into it. Although I don't like ordering stuff from overseas (I live in Germany) for various reasons. Should be able to get it over here somewhere, though... hopefully.

It was an awesome movie... Very sad though. weird that i chose that to use rather than 'creepy, scary, jumpy' lol.. i think all that is because i'm obsessed with this website and have seen most of the monstrous things in it and have read about little parts... I've GOT to stop doing that~!! haha

Oh goodness, i don't think i could take them! lol.. i love horror and scary stuff and anything to do with it but something where i'm interacting with it, be it on a screen or not... that would freak me out. i'm open to watching someone else play though, haha...

Yes, there is a book entitled Savage Girls and wild boys by Michael Newton and it has a photo of Genie in it as well as one of her brother, father and mother. Other than that photos are only printed of her with accordance to copywrite laws (Her identity was kept a secret for a long time and there is an unwritten law that photos of her and her identity should not be reveal publically) The collection of her photos and videos are stored in California and can only be viewed by special permission and no material can be taken out or copied without permission.
As for Susan Curtiss' book, I too have been searching for it

Thank you for those. It's so sad... she looks completely drained in the last one. As if that last little spark she always seemed to have has gone out. Could just be a bad photo, of course. But it would hardly be surprising...
