I don't know whether it's true, but if it is, then Tarra Steele's real life has taken some ugly turns, though nothing like her character in this film. Her Wikipedia page is gone and I can find very little about her that doesn't relate narrowly to this film.

I'm pretty sure this is her. She appears to be out of jail already and doing fine. Apparently her father and two younger sisters are in a band together called Stereo Love. You can watch a video of them together when they were younger on their youtube channel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SAQQwV5ZJ8
