I was deeply affected by genie's story and I want to see this movie but is it actually any good? If so why have I only just heard about it? Its not made-for-TV and its not direct-to-video but it isn't even mentioned in Leonard maltin's Movie Guide. Is it THAT bad?

The majority of films made on the entire planet are not mentioned in Maltin's less than satisfactory books. Forget that dullard and dig deeper. Research is its own reward.

Lifetime use to play it alot. just keep watching for it i'm sure it will be on again. it is lifetime afterall though it has been awhile since i've last seen it but still keep an eye out i'm sure it will be on again eventually. and no its not a bad movie just a disturbing story is all. how someone could do that to a child let alone their own child i'll never understand. some people should need a license to be a parent. let me tell you.
you need a license for most things on this planet but they'll let ANYONE be a parent.

I've finally seen it. Better than I expected, first-rate production values.

I have found copies on DVD but few and far between and never less than around 75.00. Good movie but that price is nuts.
