Good movie

I believe every movie should have at least one thing posted on its conversation board. Even if I were the only one here, so be it. I like "Shake It All About." It was sensual, witty, and funny. And even if it was a bit strange at times, I still liked it.

i'm danish too... i love danish films and this one is one of my favourites... the title "en kort en lang" = "a short, a long" is a pun on sexes... short for women long for men... -not so weird...

i've lived in britain and people there love danish movies. and most of them donĀ“t really mind the subtitles...

and to hullabuls: you say you didnt know that danish movies were known outside dk... of course they are... have you never seen a swedish, english or american movie overhere?? they export movies, then why shouldnt we... and what is the c..p about you hating danish cinema... where is your sense of patriotism... if denmark is so sucky, maybe you should consider moving...

I live in the Southern US and I love foriegn films, esp Danish ones. FYI - I prefer the subtitles as apposed to it being dubbed. I enjoy seeing how much of the language I can pick up on.

Hockeymouth, I could have written your comment verbatim. Everything applies to me as well...Florida.

A thing that I like about Danish films is that beside the funny strange dark comedies, the films are more realistic in portraying real life. I like that everything isn't wrapped up nicely at the end of the two hours. I like not depending on CGI to make the film interesting.

I'm getting off topic as far as this film is concerned, but I started out with Danish films because of Mads Mikkelsen. He is my favorite actor and as I read on one of these boards, he grows on you. At first you like the film, then you notice him and his portrayal. Later you think about his interesting look and end up seeing how gorgeous he is. I love his acting and the fact that he is a chameleon. He is different in everything. Then I notice that Oh, I saw that actor or actress in something else with Mads and soon I'm following someone else as well.

I'm sure it's not limited to the American actors, but I notice actors that are the same person in every film they are in. The film's may be enjoyable, but the famous actors portrayal is the same. He is older, but Clint Eastwood for instance. He is the same tough no nonsense squinty eyed fellow in everything. I recently heard some critic say Charlie Sheen is one of the best actors out there. WHAT???? He is never different and even uses his own name in things he's in.

I guess I like Danish films because they are like the small independent films that I am most drawn to. I am so pleased that I got a region free blue ray player so I can see everything I can get my hands on. Speaking of which, if anyone knows of an online video sale website in Denmark or just in Europe that has hard to find films I would appreciate the tip so much. I have been searching for Vildspor and Blomsterfangen forever.

I owe Mads Mikkelsen my enjoyment of Danish films. Since seeing him in Casino Royale I have bought as many of his films as I can find. He is a wonderful actor. I now recognise quite a few of thhe regulars in his films and enjoy them too. Quirky and interesting, most of them a breath of fresh air.
