The only thing worse than the ever-changing accents, repetitive sophomoric imagery, and invisible plot was the art school dropout dialog.
"It's snowing."
"Yes, it's snowing."
"Sir, do you see that it's snowing?"
And then they repeat the whole damn exchange in Venice, Italy so the viewer understands that it's a global phenomenon. Just in case you missed the eight or so previous mentions of global cooling.
I am glad to see that 15 years into the future will look EXACTLY like the present in every possible aspect, even for insanely rich people! :-)
I'm sure the makers of this film were counting on the "different=art" crowd to convince people it was significant, but I'd have to say it's nothing more than this generation's "Manos, Hands of Fate". :-)
The best part about the end was that they were in a place that was so cold, yet you couldn't see their breath when they were talking.

I can't beleive you you guys think that the "global cooling phenomenon" that's described in the film is a real scenario of the future...It was a huge metaphore. Besides the film was not futuristic in the classic meaning of the word. The cold is a metaphor for the frozen human relationships. The scene with people suffering sudden death on the streets is used to declare how much we need love, so much that without it we die. In fact the whole climate changing has a second meaning too. A world without love, nature, people even earth itself is self-destructing. Human is a part of nature and thus the lack of love in humans affects nature as well. If you watch the dialogues, people say about the main couple that they can be saved because they love one another.

Yup. The thesis is the title of the movie.
Titles can tell you alot. For instance, the title of this thread gives me a little clue as to the intelligence level of the person who started it.
Well its good to know that in the future you will be able to smoke on planes again.
