Bush or Archie?

There used to be a Bush vs Kennedy topic! Where oh where has it gone?
I hope to all you hormnblower fans out there that you are an Archie fan, to all those who aren't I challenge you to a duel!
So Archie or Bush?

reply

ARRRCCCHHHIIIIEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sure he's not in the books, but who cares? He's cooooolll, and the has one of the best death scenes ever. I was really annoyed in the episodes after he died when they never mentioned him.

Doctor Who or Apollo from "Galactica?" They both kick butt!

reply

Bush, by a mile.

reply

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Archie, in my opinion is the best looking character in the series, although, Hornblower does come a very close second! And my dad wonders why I like the series....lol

Every time you vote for Archie, C. S. Forester rolls in his grave.

reply

i agree! Bush is better looking!

reply

Bush is better looking, but Archie is soo sweet!
I like them both very much, in a diffrent way :)

reply

Bush all the way!!!!!!!!!!

reply

Bush wins hands down!

reply

Oh my god! I think I love Archie.. Who couldn't love somebody like him? Sweet, innocent and loyal to the last! Plus he is so hot in it

reply

*head implodes from decision making*

I love them both!

BUT I think I'll choose Archie. I don't know if I'd love Bush so much if he wasn't played by Paul McGann (who I have an insane crush on and obsession with since I watched Withnail & I).

Also Archie works better as a slash pairing with Horatio

But this doesn't mean I don't like Bush! He is looooovely and scrumptious!

'No, my husband is doing missionary work in Guam'

reply

Definately Bush. His voice is made for roaring out orders, and he just seems more believable as a naval officer than Archie.

reply

They're bot hgreat but I'd have to go with Archie. You can relate to him more I think.

reply

I like them both sooo much (and they're both hot...). It's hard to choose! I hated it when Archie had to die, I was so much in denial that I forgot to cry. I just wish Horatio, Archie and Bush could have stayed the three musketeers...
Anyway, getting back on topic,I think I have to say Archie! (I haven't seen the last two movies yet, so I may change my mind, but I doubt it ;) )

reply

Bush simply rocks

reply

His voice is AMAZING when he's roaring out orders, but honestly? I'd have to say Archie is my fave, it's that vulnerable thing. Because Bush is pretty smexy himself.

"Definately Bush. His voice is made for roaring out orders"

I agree. Bush is hot. No matter if he roars out his orders or says them in this completely calm and chilling voice, you better make sure you obey those orders or else...

As a person who partakes of both the books and the movies, my preferences is inevitably for Bush. Yes, Jamie Bamber is sexy and vulnerable and whatnot, but sex appeal does not, in my opinion, trump personality. And I can't tell you how much woe it caused me that there was only a smidgen of Bush's heroic wounding and Horatio's terrific concern for him. Sigh.

Bush's character is, somewhat paradoxically, more complex and yet simpler than Archie's. He's a simple man who thinks deep thoughts. He'll stand by his captain even when said captain treats him like dirt, and feel no resentment. Can the same be said of Archie? How would Archie have reacted to Horatio's promotion if it'd been like Bush, right over his head? Not half as well, that's how.

Also, for all you slashtastic people, I suggest you go read Lt. Hornblower. And Flying Colours. You want two compatible characters... it's practically canon!

hard to choose I love them both but..... I choose Archie

Bush!!!
