Metric or US?

Is this one of those crappy US type programmes that only use US customary units (e.g. miles), or an excellent modern production which uses metric units (kilometres, Celsius, Kelvins, light years, astronomical units, etc.)?

Well the fact that it's produced by the BBC might be viewed as a clue, I would think.

Actually, units weren't used much anyway in the series, other than the last episode (dealing with human space travel) Except for time, which is generally measured in years (typically in the thousands or millions). Of course, years are hardly metric - but for someone under the curious delusion that light years and astronomical units are metric, that won't matter much, will it?

Now, if you want to whine about the fact that the US name for this series is "Hyperspace", a completely silly and misleading title (other than maybe for the last 15 min or so), then go ahead - you'd be right. Though I expect that was mostly in order to distinguish the series from the 1985 miniseries based on James Michener's book.

the latter.
