Most powerful scene?

I felt that this movie had a great load of potential but it didn't truly live up to my expectations. The one scene in this film, however, that remained imprinted in my mind had to have been the final scene where the Turkish soldier was raping the Armenian girl, while her daughter calmly sat underneath while the crime was being committed. It was very powerful scene and brought me to tears.

I'm curious what everyone else's opinion is on the most important in the film. Close seconds for me were the scene where the women were put to light while dancing as well as Arshile Gorky's lonely dance.

I pretend to work because the Soviet government pretends to pay me.

For me, its the scene where Raffi rushes to give Ali his champagne bottle, both actors have strong facial expressions, the tension and importance of their conversation was striking.

Agree. Both made a powerful impression to me too.
