Aznavour + Saroyan. Ever notice...?

Just noticed that Charles Aznavour's character has the same name as his character in Truffaut's terrific "Shoot the Piano Player". In both he's called Edward Saroyan (though it's Edouard, French spelling, in "Piano Player"). Anyone know why? A reference, background story or other I'm missing? Egoyan playing off the hidden identity/facing one's past idea (in Truffaut's film) to make a comment about the genocide?
