3 series scripts written!

Peter Kay on radio 2 around about last week announced that he had finally finished writing the scripts for the 3rd series of pheonix nights. please post your comments about what you think about this.

reply

do you have any proof of this? i don't believe you

reply

he was talking on radio 2's steve wright in the afternoon. he has been in a play in manchester called the producers, and he announced aswell that he had finished writing the 3rd series script. why would I post it if it wasent true? it is true, the 3rd series script has been written. if you dont believe then that is your problem

reply

A script being written doesn't really say too much. It could still be a long while before we see it on telly, but still it's a step in the right direction. The Phoenix Club may be rising again.

I hope it is true! Gather then that the air date would be for 2008 but it'd be great to have it back on telly-best comedy in years!

reply

i don't know, it may ruin the series if you know what i mean. series 1 and 2 were classics, very funny, i kust hope that he isn't bringing it back just for the sake of it.

reply

He wouldn't do it for the sake of it. He said that he didn't want it to become 'last of the summer wine'. Wonder if Max and Paddy will be in it, or if it will be within the time that they are away in their motor-home?

reply

dont forget dave spikey and neil fitzmaurice also equally write the script...

Peter Kay is currently on Steve Wright's Radio 2 show and has again confirmed that he has written a 3rd series of Phoenix Nights!

reply

i hate how he selfishly named it 'peter kay's pheonix nights,' that show is as much dave's and neil's as it is his.

On the channel 4 Phoenix Nights page, Brian is wheeling his Mobo-cart past a wheelie bin with the number 3 on it and the legend underneath says "Woah woah woah, a new phoenix will rise"

Peter Kay has just been on Simon Mayo's show on Radio 5 Live and he confirmed that he's written another season of Phoenix Nights. Didn't go into any detail though.

There should be a podcast of the show on the BBC website later today or tomorrow for you unbelievers out there ;)

I remember reading in the metro a while ago that the one who plays Ray Von was saying that he and Dave Spikey wouldnt write anouther because of the way Peter Kayes ego took over while doing the second series. He said it was'nt fun anymore. I'll see if i can find the article.

That's not difficult to believe. He took over directing of Series 2 so maybe that had a little to do with it.

^ - a previous comment stated that Neil and Dave didn't want to write a 3rd. And he didn't write Road to Nowhere, he wrote it with Patrick McGuiness (Paddy) but I agree that it was pretty damn awful...

so much for a 3rd series,5 years later and still nothing, damn shame but probably a blessing in disguise,i think too much time has gone by now to follow the first 2 series, sad but kinda glad too.
