Truly a great character film

I really enjoyed this movie, which i saw on SBS the other night. It features some great, unique and well developed characters which save the film from falling into the boring catagory. Also, it was refreshing to see a film that truely sticks to its origionality and doesn't sacrifice its characters in favour of a Hollywood ending, or Hollywood plot even. The acting is great and even though each character is extreme, it helps create the comedy of the wonderful film.
I just thought it was great to see a film that featured its characters rather than a bunch of wishy-washy characters being flung around in a strong meaningless plot.
Great comedy, 9.75 out of ten, great, great script and acting, SEE THIS FILM!!

i agree with you. i found it a really really enjoyable film. One where I truly wanted the best for each of teh characters especially of course, George; whose shy awkwardness makes you root for him. You can tell these people are GOOD people. Like another post here, it IS just a nice little film, a good hearted romance that sticks with you I think; if only to tell you to 'go for that girl' :) The actress being completely hot doesn't hurt either.

I highly enjoyd the eccentRicity of this oh so ecclectic film of the human genopila. I found myself in a state of extReme entRuocity as I peRveRbed this film in my mother's basement.
I will have to canfumsicate the dvd and hope elongificly that the honouRious diRector divestulates and confextuates to my ellipicity and conducts a sequel.

*beep* but for real i was really digging George's character, yo. And the that french dude was funny like that wierd ass goat in malcolm.

Only came across this film while channel flipping tonight, never heard of it before. Caught it on the Sundance channel, great film. Loved the main character George.

being a early twenty something male i didn't really think that i would enjoy this film as much as i would. georges shyness, and gerards desperate search for love really made the movie what it was. favorite scene was when george was thumping his chest with the uncle before dinner... simply hilarious

mr.gumble this isa girl scouts meeting. Is it? or is it that you girls cant admit you have a problem
