To me,the most ironic fact is the philosophy subject of his college entrance exam (he got a nice 16/20 grade)
"does the truth exist?"

BTW i just saw a documentary on him and they talked about this film,i'm really interested in seeing it.

Many journalists today would say (to their pals and colleagues, not to their bosses or their readers) that "heck, truth is always a subjective thing that we can make and remake as we like it"

I also saw a documentary on Romand (not the same one since it didn't mention this film). I want to see the movie, too. Can anyone tell me if they liked it?

reply

Truth is just a consensus of opinions. Based on that is decided what is true and what is not.
Truth is the most subjective thing that could exist.
It's also based on convenience. If it's convenient to believe something, everybody believes it. When it ceases to be convenient suddenly nobody believes it anymore.

Then what's a lie? "truth" without consensus?

just my 2 cents.

reply

People like Jeffrey Skilling, or Goebbels in his day, have the same concept of truth as many pundits and journalists today. And perhaps as Romand; the difference is that business moguls make big money and adulation out of their evasive lingo.

They don't even know the multiplication tables: all they know is how to multiply themselves!
