Any future adaptations

I've just seen a documentary based on Romands life titled 'The man who faked his life'. As I was watching I was wondering if Hollywood had already made a movie based on Romands deceitful double life. I see a number of European movies have been made so I would assume that an English version, unless already made, wouldn’t be to far away. Anyone know of any?

Haven't heard of one and I have a feeling this kind of story would come out as weird to the mainstream American audience - certainly L'Adversaire would. For long stretches almost nothing seems to happen, Auteuil is aimlessly killing time and reading newspapers. It's too cold a story, and too abstract in its views, to take on with the U.S.: people are treating each other like ants in the film and it ends in a tragic disaster. Thre was Catch Me If You Can which is also based on a true story of a master deceiver, but that one's a very different piece of cake.

The movie has big implications for our views about work and identity . In a world of hundred years ago, this story would have been impossible: Romande succeeded in his deceit by taking advantage of the fact that in mödern high-paid working life we're always on the move, we're seldom fully visible to others for long stretches of time, and communication is often not face-to-face (so it's easier to establish a double life). And your value is measured to a large extent by who you work with, whose money you're entrusted with etc - you don't make a career today just by showing your intelligence and ability at evry corner.

The English-language film 'The Full Monty' was a big hit and had a character called Gerald who lost his job but pretended he still had one.
