Well......

I like Daniel Auteuil and I thought it was a very interesting subject.

So why was I over bored by this movie?

I think the director makes a mess with the temporal levels: I hardly understood a dozen scenes, and I really don't think I'm that dumb.

On a whole, I found this film loathing....probably because of the subject matter.

Watched this yesterday.
I thought it was a bit slow (mind you, I'm used to European, Arthouse films) but it is well-directed and the fantastic performance by Auteuil compensates for all the negative points.

I think I must have one of those faces you can't help believing.

well its a good movie and has a good theme but after 1 hour of watching the pathetic life of the main character youre already bored with his story. you can anticipate the rest and thats why it becomes boring...i remenber i was watching my clock waiting for that stupid *beep* to end it all for once and for all in order to leave the cinema. i think the director commited only one mistake and thats the time he used for the film...its way too long for such a insipid and tasteless life. he could have used 1 and half and that would avoid the boredom it causes in the end.

Hello!

I liked this film. But it was a painful and distressing viewing. The film succeeded in making me relate to the husband, in the many (horrible) aspects of lying and keeping up a facade. I could relate to the film even though the events of story are unfamiliar to me (and this sense of recognition and also compassion are important for a film's credibility).

The feeling of how consuming dishonesty and betrayal is, and how hurtful these are for all involved. Who is not familiar with this?

But as the others above I found the events towards the end of the film a bit too much, I lost some the strong interest I had in the first half of the film.

doppelganger-5 - the director is a woman not a "he" as you kept referring to her.
