I was completely lost with the time line of this movie. They kept putting "two days earlier" and "three days earlier" on the screen, yet the story seemed to continue to move forward. The lady tells the story of Riley and her father to the girl before she sends the blond chick out to investigate. "three days earlier" and the blond chick is checking out the dead body and meeting with the creepy old dude before she was even supposed to know of the murder. Please explain, maybe I'm dumb.
As of right now i am also confused so you are not alone. Hopefully someone can clarify this.

I noticed this f-ed up time line as well - it was pretty stupid.
The movie starts out in "Present Day - Oct 31st".
Then it says, "Three Days Earlier - Oct 28th".
And next it says "Two Days Earlier - Oct 29th".
(and then it repeats once more)
Basically, it was X Days earlier from the original 4 minute scene, rather than a compounded time line. The movie really didn't any title cards, but it would have been simpler to say, "Monday... Tuesday..." etc.
Horrible movie - that confusion was not anywhere close to the worst part about it.
