Inconsistency with Keena's character.

In the first episode she was a shy girl with anxiety issues. She missed being with her parents, etc. She was scared. But it seems like they dumped that story-line and character trait completely. First off, her mother shows up and she doesn't even want her there. If she really had severe seperation anxiety (like she said she had in the first episode), then she would have been so happy to see one of her parents but instead she didn't act that way at all. Also, she goes from shy, nervous girl to drunk whore basically, lol. The nervousness, shyness, anxiety never shows up.

I noticed this as well. I find it interesting how often characters change when they start filming after the pilot.

The pilot, like with many series, doesn't always jive with the rest. That's because, from what I understand, they make adjustments after the pilot, when they can see what does or doesn't work. The episode itself doesn't seem like the others.

The writing is pretty sloppy on the show. It's a funny show, but lots of character inconsistencies. for instance, the one roommate is desperate to get into the main characters' dorm because her roommate keeps playing the same song on her violin. Yet a few episodes later she refuses to stop playing a pop song on her boom box over and over?

A couple of days ago, I watched the fraternity 2-parter with the second part having the B-plot of Rachel gaining the "Freshman 15." What I didn't understand is why on Earth would she feel like she is out of those two guys' leagues when they started hitting on her. Were they supposed to fit some "unattractive" guy trope? The guy with the glasses didn't fit the stereotypical nerd trope and probably would be attractive to another girl's eyes. The Samoan guy didn't seem like a shy type, and then you have that bit at the end with Rachel dressed a certain way to get those guys to drool over her. I was like "Seriously?" She is a pretty girl, yes, but in some episodes, she didn't seem like the girl who is out of a guy's league and is insecure about her image.
