If they are freshmen how can they drink?

All of these people are supposed to be freshmen, yet they are constantly drinking. In one episode they went into a shop and bought wine like it was no big deal. They get into a bar; seemingly with no problems. They find a keg and just drink from it like they are of legal age. The instances contine, but I was wondering if people really do this in college? I am twenty two, never went to college, and never drink. I am pretty sure though, that they should not have such easy access to alcohol.

Yes, people in college, even those underage, drink and have access to copious amounts of alcohol. As for the show, it is established that at least a few of the characters have fake ID's, and the Keg was left over from an event and gifted to the guys, presumably by someone who didn't care that they were underage. The RA, Lucien, is clueless and wants to be everybody's friend, so even if he saw the alcohol, he'd look the other way. In the scene where they visit Hal at the restaurant, they jokingly try to order alcohol and he denies them.

The same way high school and junior high kids drink. Eighteen/nineteen really isn't that young. In most countries eighteen is the legal drinking age. Lloyd and possibly Ron, depending on which province he was from, would have already reached the legal drinking age in their countries before going to UNEC.

Not to mention there are numerous times they talk about fake I.D's and even when Rachel's mom visits, she hides hers. On top of the fact alcohol is much easier to come by, especially in college than you might think.

The one positive about them drinking at school is they all live in the dorms and most likely the same building so it's not like anyone is drinking and driving afterwards to get home.

Hmm..well I can say that I did most of my drinking in college during my freshman year. And yeah I think you need to get out more.
