Every single Marshall plotline sucked.

Seriously, it's easy to see why Timm Sharp never had a career. He's woefully unfunny. His over-the-top goofy plotlines never once even elicited the slightest smile or giggle from me and instead just made me cringe. Carrying a cockatoo around campus? Being horribly sick with the flu in some godawful slapstick scenes? Eating gross cafeteria food that people took bites out of? Don't get me wrong, no actor could make that crap funny, but I wanted to punch this guy in the face every time he went on screen.

Monica Keena's character was horribly written, but at least she, the actress, was likable in playing that character. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Mr. Timm Sharp in playing the insufferable Marshall Nesbitt.

Most of the other characters on the show were solid, but the whole thing never really worked on the same level that Freaks and Geeks did. I think the writers just needed to sit down a while longer and fully establish exactly who the characters all were. Because two or episodes in, everybody just sort of seemed to forget.
