Is The Moral Of The Story That Inventors MUST Have A Business Sense?

If all your energy goes into ideas which will make the world better for others but you don't have a good business sense, all your ideas will be stolen and you'll end up destitute?

I think that's a big part of the idea. He needed some others looking out for him. It seems he had he had some mental problems which made him overlook reality. He sank a lot of his own money into his impossible and impractical ideas. It got worse as he got older. Hanging onto his idea of wireless power.

speaking of morality, the scene with the elephant almost killed me. I know the mind set of people were different in those days, but I was appalled! Smoke was coming off the feet of the animal.
