This movie is based on the American Movie 'The Truth about Cats and Dogs' starring Uma Thurman and some other people

I'll answer my own question now that I've seen 'Aah'. This film is very similar to Aah, I don't think that it is based on 'The Truth about Cats and Dogs' and since it is written by Kholi, who is a big fan of Raj Kapoor, and many Raj Kapoor references are made in the film, I'd say Aah over Truth About Cats and Dogs. It does have similarities to the latter, but not enough to make me think it's a copy of that film. But thanks anyway etchedonmyskin.

I completely agree with u about 'Aah', Nargis's character writing to Raj instead of her sister who is intended for him. Them having to sacrifice their love , oh n the song 'raja ki aye ki barat' also feature's in MDK. 'Raj Kapoor is a genius' LOl.

'maybe it's because im a londoner'

reply

Nay, only based on itself...

All the films mentioned in this thread were inspired by the story of Cyrano de Bergerac, who (at least in Rostand's 1897 play) wooed the beautiful Roxanne on behalf of his handsome friend who was not poetic. Roxanne fell in love with Cyrano's letters and Christian's looks.

Cyrano, and I would swear the BETTY & VERONICA comics - certainly Kareena Kapoor nails a Veronica Lodge-like character here, and if Rani Mukherjee couldn't play the studious nice girl Betty, I don't know who could.

Though Hrithik Roshan as Archie Andrews...? :D
