What's your favorite Up All Night movie?

Didn't see another thread like this so I thought I'd throw it out there....for me, my all time fave Up All Night movie would have to be Hamburger: The Motion Picture (Put those cookies back, mother****er!) Runners up would be Fraternity Vacation, Hot Chili, Summer Job, and Nightmare Sisters.

Those were great, but my favorite is "Cavegirl", then "Jocks", "H.O.T.S.", "Stewardess School", and "Weekend Pass".

There are so many movies that USA UP ALL NIGHT showed that are my favorites and some of them are hard to get your hands on them because they did not come out in VHS or DVD which is sad to hear.

Up all Night got me into Troma movies like Toxic Avenger and Class of Nuke EM High.

reply

Yeah those are some great films from Tromaville! I have to agree with you there on that turbo_monster! It introduced me to Troma movies as well. There is a lot that we should all be thankful about USA UP ALL NIGHT because it opened up our eyes to different styles of movies that we could learn to love and enjoy watching late at night.

Another movie I remember Usa network would show called Black Roses. I found that one on dvd several years ago.

reply

That is awesome to hear. I am not sure if I remember seeing that movie or not but it sounds like it would be a good movie to watch.

Black Roses is a great movie, turbomonster...I bought the soundtrack on CD shortly after seeing it (and I still have it!)

reply

I like that Lizzy Borden song in the movie. Rock N Roll Nightmare is also a funny bad movie. I'm not sure if that was ever on Up All Night tho.

reply

Don't forget Rock N Roll High School Forever with Corey Feldman.

Can you rip some of those audio tracks and share them? I'm sure there is no existing copyright.

Yeah, I like "Black Roses". That movie really exploited parents fears about heavy metal in the eighties. Fun stuff.

I really didn't like "The Toxic Avenger" (yet another remake coming), not because of the gore involved, that was sweet. I just thought it was way stupid to make Toxie into some boy scout do-gooder. It appeared like Troma was just trying to cover up their tracks after so many controversial parts like when the kid got ran over by thugs.
I would have loved it if they made Toxie an anti-hero, a sort of demented version of Snake Plissken, instead of what he was. This is why I hate Troma, they always add in this fake moral junk so no one will sue them. "Mother's Day" is no exception.
But yes, they do fit in on the UAN list, so I definitely had fun watching Troma films with Rhonda and Gilbert relief involved.

A "Toxic Avenger" remake is coming out. Not that I'm surprised.

Combat Academy, Pretty Smart...2 of my fave USA UAN movies :)

"Mm... Joel... Man! I'm not proud of you today!"

Those are some good ones there! I loved Beach Fever, Witch Academy, All of the Vice Academy movies that USA UP ALL NIGHT would show except one of them they never showed because USA UP ALL NIGHT was removed from the programming and I got to see that in the DVD box collection that came out a couple of years ago, Nightmare Sisters, Sorority Babes In The Slime Bowl O'Rama, and much more too!

I loved Pretty Smart and Toxic Avenger! USA should create a channel (on digital and satellite) similar to TCM and AMC showing old B rated movies. Oh how I miss these movies. The 80's was a great time to grow up!

reply

That is a wonderful idea that you have there but USA Network is no longer the independent network like it once was back 15 years ago. See NBC bought them out to turn it into a NBC 2. This also happened to SCIFI Channel as well. USA Network use to own that network as well but when they sold out to NBC they also let NBC get their greedy hands on SCIFI Channel. Last year was when NBC changed the name over to SYFY Channel.

Now if USA Network was still running both USA Network and SCIFI Channel I bet you would get your wish but NBC would step in to ruin that channel. Just letting you know my friend on what would happen.

What was that comedy call where it followed 2 guys who loved smoking so much pot and loved Blue Oyster Cult.

I think it was called Stonehenge?

that movie is the stoned age.

NBC is the Devil if you ask me.

I agree with you there about that because USA Network was just fine without NBC buying them out. Diller should have sold it to someone else who would have kept USA Network a independent network that would show things differently from all other networks. That is my opinion about it.

I was an impressionable young man at the time, so I fondly remember the movies that showed some skin like Hardbodies, Private Resort and Chained Heat. I also remember kind of liking Going Overboard I think with Adam Sandler. In what world does a cruise ship comedian get all the women???
Without USA Up All Night my weekends would have been unbearable!

reply

Those are some good movies that you have mentioned there. Yes if it were not for USA UP ALL NIGHT my weekends would have been boring. I discovered UAN back when I was in high school and loved watching the movies that UAN showed on Friday and Saturday nights.

Come check out THE POSSESSION OF INNOCENCE page on Facebook. It is the first film script that I have written and trying to get made. Thank you for your help and support!
