Pathetic use of Guest Stars in Season 4 - Channel 7 ruined the show.

Eric Bana, Matt Lucas, Katie from Big Brother, Shane Warne, Andrew O'Keefe. Did Channel 7 really think they needed so many guest stars in 8 Episodes? The only one I can think to justify is Matt Lucas, because he was hilarious.

Why the hell did they use that idiot from Big Brother? She was a washed up nobody from Big Brother, not an actress. The same with Shane Warne. I know it's been established since the start that Sharron loved him, but he was just terrible, and I know he's not an actor, but instead of just being himself he was trying to act. It was a pathetic, nausiating way to end the series.

I can barely watch Season 4 because of that retard from Big Brother and Shane Warne. Too bad, without him it would have been a great finale.

Channel 7 really screwed the show. It should have stayed on ABC. They actually knew Kath and Kim.

I agree with you. I'm not from Australia so I didn't know about the channel change but I could definitely tell that they were putting in more guest stars than necessary. Kath and Kim is already hilarious on its own that they don't need guest stars but they could've been good ones instead of just random celebrities. I do agree that Matt Lucas was very funny so that wasn't a bad choice but other than that none of them were that special. It would've been better without them.

I love the Internet.

The girls wanted a break after series 3 because the felt the show was becoming stale and they were running out of ideas, they actually thought series 3 might even be the last.
In steps channel 7 and offer big $$$$$ so they would have been silly to turn it down, the results were less than satisfactory though and you could tell the girls hearts weren't in it.

I definitely agree. I've been a fan since the first season and I strongly believe that the show declined in quality, beginning with season three. Series one and two were hilarious (series two was my favourite), series three was alright, had its funny moments, but season 4... I haven't bothered to buy the DVD, and haven't watched it since it aired. I used to be Kath and Kim's biggest fan... but series 4 let me down. The ludicrous storylines were its main downfall in my view, such as Kel's 'sausage signing' after he won some business award. It's appeal came from its totally believable and typical storylines, where you could laugh and actually think 'I know someone like that.' Sad to see a show decline in quality like that.

I didn't think it was necessary to add the guest stars but I didn't think it made it any less hilarious. They just know how to work with anything and make it entertaining. I love Season 4 just as much as the other seasons. And I disagree that the award episode with Kel winning was not funny or ludicrous. I loved it. Not only did we get to see Prude and Trude again which are my favorite side characters but just the humor of the fact that lower class people like Kath and Kel thought of it as such a big deal but to Prude and Trude which are obviously upper class it was just ridiculous and they made fun of it the whole time. I loved the contrast and it was a great episode to me.
