Is Mickey Really That Dull

They've made major series out of Goofy and the Duck characters, how come Mickey never got his own solo adventure/comedy series?

Not really. Mickey, is kind of Disney's equivalent to Bugs Bunny, he hardly ever got any airtime after the theatrical shorts, or at least compared to Goofy and Donald. Sure there was Mickey Mouse Club, and all that but he sorta faded for a couple decades. They could've given him his own show for awhile.

I meant, MICKEY went unseen for practically a decade unless it was on clothing or rare theatrical shorts, or anything that wasnt big on exposure of the character. Bugs still stayed in the public eye whereas not too many kids these days know much about Mickey outside of the preschool show that airs or House of Mouse reruns and that show really wasnt that popular.

He should get his own comedy/adventure show like the comic books.

Bugs pretty much stayed popular in the public's eye for many years via countless re-airings of Looney Tunes shorts on Saturday mornings and television specials. In that interim (prolly 70s-80s) the only time anyone really saw a Mickey Mouse cartoon or exposed to the character for a very long time was through the occassional Walt Disney special on television or if you had the Disney channel which for many years was a pay cable channel. People knew Mickey exsisted as an icon but he wasnt given much exposure(i.e. his own weekly television series, etc.). Mickey's rare appearences meant he sort of faded from public consciousness, sure he was in Roger Rabbit and with Bugs no less but from then to now he wasnt very much a popular character just more a faded icon or more a less a mascot for the Disney company whereas kids got to know Donald and Goofy alittle better.

Mickey's heyday was clearly the 20s til maybe the mid to late 40s when Donald and Goofy sort of usurped the popularity of Mickey.

I cannot make it much clearer without using hand puppets or something. Thats it.

Yeah i remember as it being something like Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto all had their own series back in the 30's and 40's but the Disney were having some financial things going on and Walt decided to cut back as he wanted to focus also on live movies and ceased the Mickey, Goofy and Pluto series just prior to 1950 but kept Donald's show going for the fans and also to keep the animators in work. Something to that effect. Mickey remained in the Disneyland weekly series etc but his public appearences on tv were deminished greatly.

However..........I LOVE DONALD DUCK!!!! :)
