For The Love of Entertainment, Fall Off The Wagon, Jinny!

Okay, the subject was a bit overdramatic, but it pertains to a sophisticated and pressing question that I would like to relate to the rest of you:

>Did anyone else like Jinny better when she was always drunk and sleeping with everyone?

Now, I understand that through the process of character development, you must have a character...develop. But, "Sober-Responsible-Officer-of-the-Law Jinny" is not nearly as exciting "Drunk-Copper-Limping-Down-a-Strange-Hallway-with-a-Bottle-of-Whiskey-While-Licensed-to-Own-a-Gun Jinny".

I love that reckloose rebel that Nancy plays, and once 'Jinny' endured their "Lifetime Channel-ized" Intervention, the only thing that can spark my interest on the show is when she hooks up with Dean Cain. Because, no matter what gender/orientation you are, one fact will always remain. Dain Cain is the hottest man on Earth.

So, in conclusion, I will leave it up to you!

Which Jinny is more fun?

"I have slept with *so* many men this last week, that I can't even make a list of all their names. Blast! Now I'll never find out who's stalking me!...I need a drink."

or

"I love the law. Protecting people gives me the satifaction that alcohol never could. Stay in school. Addiction is bad."

I like Season 4 Jinny the best actually. I get what you mean though. I don't think the character had to be sleeping around and drunk all the time to be exciting, but in Season 2 it was mostly dealing with her coming to terms with being sober and therefore she was kind of bitter and angry a lot. In Season 3 she was an absolute mess with her depression and addictions.

I know the show ends in Season 4, but by Season 4 Jinny had gotten her act together but through therapy and the meds she seemed to learn how to deal and have fun again for the first time. I actually enjoyed seeing her on the upswing and making the most of her life for once. I thought it was particularly nice to see this character evolve and go out on a high note and in a good place in her life.

I do agree with you, and ultimately I think Jinny's character had a real and meaninful adventure. I tend to overdramatically state things to make small points, but I see where you're coming from, and "messed up" characters need to get fixed eventually (if they star in the show), but I love the drastic flaws that keep Jinny exciting.

No, I agree with you too. Like as much as I love the pretty that is Dean Cain and appreciate all the angst of Season 3 it ends at a good time. If they kept that up in Season 4 I'm not sure I could have watched. You can only watch someone self destruct for so long. It kind of takes a toll, especially once they hit rock bottom, so in that respect I love seeing her build herself up again and probably wind up happier than she probably ever has been--and happier than she probably ever expected to be.

Plus I love the sexy Jon Tenney too and really thought his character was a good fit for Jinny. You could tell Hank adored her and accepted her for who she was no matter what.

But Season 1 Jinny was a lot of fun to watch.

Well I liked her character throughout the whole show. But I liked her more in the 2nd and 3d seasons. Because she was trying to confront her addiction but she was also in denial but she made it good because she is such a good actor that you can really relate to her character. But then I liked her when she was over her addiction and when she was sober and started dating Hank. But my favorite Jinny episode is the Intervenion. Either way Nancy McKeon rocks

You ask which Jinny is more fun.

My answer is: The one who can kick ass!

I agree, I thought Jinny's character was much more fun and exciting when she was drunk. First season is my favorite season. She's just more fun. You never knew what to expect!
