What happened to Meriam in the end??

Did she stay in America or did she go back to her own country?

That's the big mystery. I looked on Wiki (lol) and the links it provides. The different articles contradict each other. Most articles say she went back to Bahrain in 2001 after 9/11 because her family feared for her safety. Then was finally divorced from Johnson in 2004, IN LAS VEGAS. Others insist she still lives in the US and her family occasionally visits her, since it's too risky for her to return to Bahrain. Sure Bahrain is more liberal than the major ME countries, but she shamed her royal Muslim family and her country (in their eyes) big time. She boinked an infidel! If she did actually return to her country then my guess is she is living under house arrest or something or dead. Or is she here in the US living under a new identity? Reportedly the FBI thwarted an assassination attempt by a Syrian who was paid $500,000.

Somebody give me the Bahraini Kings email address and I'll ask what happened to her. "Hey whatever happened to that slutty princess, the one who liked to ride American infidel hogs, the one who disgraced your nation?"

There is no mystery. Only to people in the states maybe. She returned to Bahrain after they got divorced due to her obsession with nightclubs and casinos in Vegas, instead of dedicating her life for him like this movie suggests. She lives with her family again in Bahrain, and yes, she is still alive.

The Al Khalifa family are anything but a Islamic conervtive family, they make the biggest owners of nightclubs and bars in Bahrain, making the capital Manama th 8th most sinful city in the world. According to Askmen. The problem with her marrying a marine (To her family) was more with the fact she's moving on from her position as a rich princess to a marine with a low income, which is logical for any rich family to be worried about, and ofcourse, very common for movies that represent advanced Bahrain as a country where people walk with their sheep and camel in the street, to twist.
