Is this, knowingly, a re-make of MAN FACING SOUTHEAST?

It's the exact plot of a great, South American, film from the 80's, but it appears to lack the socio-political commentary of the original film.

NO

This is the better and improved version , with actors that have talent.
That was a foreign movie that would have been FORGOTTEN if it wasn’t for k-pax.

Its a case of plagiarism.
The original work is ART, not only an entertainment product.

Best regards.

I'm not from South America but i think the original one is great. BTW do you you think American ripoff is good because you are from the US?

From Wikipedia's entry on the movie version of K-PAX:

Complaints of plagiarism of the 1986 Argentinian film Man Facing Southeast were made by its makers, and Gene Brewer and others connected with the K-PAX film were subsequently sued in November 2001. The complaint was later withdrawn, and Gene Brewer went on to release a memoir exploring his inspiration for the books called Creating K-PAX or Are You Sure You Want to Be a Writer?

I thought the same. Only this film lacks the poetry Man facing...had. But the plot is the same. This is an interesting version, though.

i read that script prior to the making of k-pax , it is of course the americanized version of MFSE
