What happens after the credits?
The FAQ says something happens after the credits, anyone know what it is?

shareJust saw this movie on TV on APTN which always runs movies to their very end with no ads overlaid. Jeff Bridges is shown looking through his own telescope in his backyard at the sky. He is shown thinking about the night sky as he walks away from the telescope to join his family also all out on the backyard grass. The scene leaves a feeling of wonder about what all may be out in the universe that we don't know or understand.

shareexcept his family are actually not on the grass or in the scene, its just Jeff at the telescope, who looks up at the stars, then turns and walks towards his house, there is light on in the house, which is where the family must likely are.
shareThat was a sweet-ass telescope, easily worth about two grand. Which gets me to my question, as an amateur astronomer - what does Hollywood do with all the telescopes they use in the movies? Who gets them? Because if they need to get rid of them, then I've got some room . . .

I have found no mention of it on the web (granted, I haven't looked super hard yet), but a couple days ago while watching K-Pax, i noticed that the after-credits scene is totally a nod to The Big Lebowski. The Dude Abides.
And there was an obvious reference to Alien (1979) when Prot said "Don't worry, I'm not gonna leap out of your chest".
