My older brother and I grew up watching this on TV and now have it videotaped. Even though I'm 25 and he's 31, we still get it out and watch it every Christmas. Our favorite segment is "The Carol of the Bells." The claymation bells are hilarious, especially the snaggle-toothed one who never gets his cue from the hunchback conductor! It's classic Christmas fun...
I was always a fan of the camels (jazzy "we 3 kings"..... and the walrus ice skating.
This was on a Christmas tape my dad made for me back in the 80's..... 8 full hrs of Christmas kids shows. This was my favorite, and towards the end, so we always fastforwarded it... :%2
I loved the jazzy We 3 Kings, the Carol of the Bells ("Look, it's Dumbbell!"), Joy to the World, and O' Christmas Tree...now I ask you, why can't they make good entertainment like that anymore?
Same here...but our tape's starting to go bad, the picture jumps every so often...I tell you I wish there was a way people could have old videotapes restored, because with the old tapes we have we also have on old commercials, the good ones, the stuff you don't see anymore...and I hate to lose them...add to the fact that it's not easy to come by the Claymation Christmas Special on VHS or DVD...I tell you, of all the things people can do, you'd think they could manage that one.
I just watched it for the first time since I was about 5 years old back when it aired on the Disney channel my favorite segments were We Three Kings, Carol of the Bells, and The California Raisins.
