Gandolfini; "What is that?"

Probably my favorite part of the film is when Gandolfini's character stares out the window and sees a prisoner built trebuchet being rolled out into the courtyard, and then hearing him say; "What is that?"

And then he finds out the hard way 

then less than 1 min later he knows it is a trebuchet. How does any military person not know what a trebuchet looks like lol

Especially if he's in the Engineering Corps....wasn't Gandolfini or some of his group wearing the castle pin for engineers?

Colonel Winter's collar insignia was two crossed flintlock pistols which is the insignia for the army's Military Police corps: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/160946350754-0-1/s-l1000.jpg

I stand corrected.

I stand corrected.

No need to feel that way; I wasn't correcting you.

When I read your post I took it that you were asking a question ("wasn't Gandolfini or some of his group wearing the castle pin for engineers?") and not stating a fact. So I just answered your question.

reply

I didn't take it personally, but thanks! 

I figured it was a wtf moment. I say it all the time to my kids. What is this. :) I usually know what it is I just don't understand why it is there or how it came to be there.

My favorite comical part was when he ordered the B team to go attack the prisoners with their clubs. EVERY SINGLE guard used their club to strike the prisoners' shields! No one went for the knees. No one went for the head. The incompetent guards just swung woefully at the enemy's shield. LMAO
