Chess scene

This is a little bit nitpicky, but there is a scene where two guys are playing chess and one guy (Redford) says that his opponent will checkmate him in five moves; but he (Redford) then says that he will mate the other guy in three moves, hence he is not worried (in essence). The actual position is shown briefly. In fact, in that position neither player is nearly about to be checkmated. It's actually a fairly realistic position, but it is still in the opening, and nobody's king is exposed, and none of the major attacking pieces are even out. Most movies are surprisingly accurate about chess positions, which reflects an attention to detail. At least the position in Last Castle was a legal position, and was plausible (which they sometimes are not). I'm peculiar on this issue of chess positions because I'm an extremely avid chess player. This probably does not bother most people...

I thought the same thing when I replayed the scene. As a chess player, I was like "WTF??"
