Cover Artwork Question

Who is the blonde girl on the cover as she doesn't appear to be in the film (unless I'm missing something)

reply

None of those people are in the movie.the distirbutors just put some hot chicks and people you haven't seen so the movie will sell, thats americans for ya.

reply

I know, that is so weird. After I watched the movie, I was like "Who's the blonde?" I also thought I was missing something. But If the distributors put people on the cover who are not even in the movie, how come this has not happened with any other movie cover that I have seen?

reply

oh GOD dont start with the american cover of Infernal Affairs, its disgusting and totally ruins the mood of the whole film.

Check out the Euro-cover: http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B0007DDRTG.08.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

reply

yeah, I noticed that too. So insulting. I bet Jackie Chan and crew weren't pleased at all about this.

reply

Ha, I just checked out this flick and came here to ask the same thing. Yeah, none of those people are in the flick (well except for Chan) how weird...

reply

that random black dude cracks me up

reply

Yeah... A token Tucker-alike!

I'm bringing Afro back!!! Unlike most boys, I can't wear a hat!

I had heard good things about this movie and was very psyched to check it out as I love Chan's easy going humour and mad fighting styles. But as I saw it I got more and more frustrated - where were the people on the cover and where were the jets and parachute people?

Silly as it is with things on the cover that aren't in the film, the dubbing is utterly painful - totally out of synch - and when the story is as fragmented as is the case in the version I saw, one has to wonder if the dubbing missed out things, or if the Danish version has been cut, because the storyline is pretty much impossible to understand.

Jackie has some good moves and there are a couple of very pretty gels to look at for a few moments, but that is about the qualities that are to be found in this movie. The storyline in the Danish release is impossible to understand for anyone with a normal IQ and the quality of the effects are below par for what can be expected today.

A sorely disappointing flick and not one that can be recommended, unless you are a hardcore Jackie Chan fan.

I always avoided this one like the plague because of the crappy cover. Everytime i saw the DVD on the shelves of my (now closed) local video store, i was always like "Geez, this must be one of those crappy movies that Chan made in the U.S.", i always thought that this was an American movie, i was wrong, i actually like Jackie's HK movies, i'm gonna track down the original Hong Kong version and watch it.

reply

Review the normal version not a stupid Danish version. The only way I know you can give this movie a 4/10 is if the Danish version COMPLETELY took out the ending and the fighting sequences!

reply

@Wykah The blonde isn't in the movie? That's f_cked up.

reply

Not only the blonde, absolutely nothing on the cover (except for Chan) is in the damn movie.

I own you.
