2/28 Alcohol question.....

In the 2/28 episode of "Live to Tell", the Dad apparently fell off the wagon for six weeks. The Mom said he had been sober for a certain number of years, so it sounds like he had a history of alcohol problems. He then drank to the point of falling off the boat, leading to constant arguments about his drinking, and it took him six weeks to turn things around and quit drinking again.

So my question is...why would all that alcohol have been on the boat? Enough to drink very heavily for six weeks when the guy had alcohol problems to begin with? And the MOm said "thank god he stopped" after six weeks, meaning apparenlty he hadn't run out of alcohol at that point. It's not like there were any other adults on the boat besides the parents who might have wanted a drink so I don't get it.

Any ideas???
