SMRPG Too Difficult?

Does it just take time to get used to, or is this game just plain difficult?! I remember playing this in my childhood, but I was too young to actually do anything. I only remember Exor... :P Anyway, I finally decided to play it again, after YEARS away from it. I had a difficult time getting past most of the first bosses...and when I say 'trouble', I mean DIED! The Hammer Bros., Croco, and the Bouncing Sword with the Shy-Guys (forgive me!!) all gave me the hardest time. Actually, I'm still stuck at getting the first star. Am I just bad at this, or have I been away for too long? O_O

If you aren't at the appropriate level then you may have difficulty defeating some of the bosses (I found them fun though).

That's so weird, because now that I'm older, this game seems almost uncannily easy. I've beaten the whole thing in two sittings now. It almost moves by too quickly. =(

I still love it though.

When I was 13 I thought it was easy, but now that I'm 18 to me this RPG seems hard. It is probably because I'm impatient, because it is turn and encounter based, which bores me and wants me to rush through all the mobs and go directly for the bosses.. This game is no chrono trigger or SoM!

I find it really easy. Just make sure you're leveled up enough. I love this game, I can play it over and over again.

The trick to defeating enemies is to use Mario's jumping. His later jumps if timed right, can go on indefinitely and can cause intense amounts of damage. Helpful for bosses like the Axem Rangers.

You know...I bought this game almost immediately after it came out and man did I suffer badly! It was so hard to progress. Finally I did and after many, MANY defeats I beat the game. After about 7 or 8 years I pulled it back out to play...and found it a bit easier. I beat it and that was it. A few weeks ago, I pulled it back out and found that I had a tough time with it, just as I had originally, all those years ago. Eventually I beat it, but...it's an amazing game. Everything is perfect: the music, the storyline, the characters...I love it :)

I find that for the first couple of bosses, you need to be at least level 2(preferably 3)to beat the Hammer Bros, level 4 to beat Croco and Level 6 to beat Mac (the sword with the bouncing shyguys).

One of the things that dissapointed me was that you could only train up till level 40 or 50. =(
The game posed no challenge to me, except for that optional boss.

Really? Cause I'm pretty sure I've beaten Mack at level 4.

Started it 3-4 years ago, love it, but never beat it, simply because of this one part later in the game in a castle, where there are 6 doors you have to clear, 2 involve battling, 2 involve gambles, and 2 involve platforming, and the platforming ones are extremely hard and frustrating.

When I was a kid I used to rent this game all the time and I thought it was so hard. When I owned a wii I purchased the digital version of this game. I really took my time doing as many battles as possible to make the boss fights easy. I beat it. I beat it everytime now. So it seems easier to me now.
