Why is the original always better?

I saw this movie once and thought "well that sucked, but at least I havn't seen this idea in a movie before" Then today I watched "Armed and Dangerous" with John Candy, 20 years old, same plot, basicly the same storyline and way better actors. Why can't Hollywood make anything new? And when they remake movies, then why do they always suck?

Well anyway, am I they only one who think the original is better than this 'movie'?
