Hey does anyone actually know what this is about. I heard it was something to do with security guards posing as cops, but then i heard from somewhere else that it was NSA posing as cops and i don't know what this is really about?

I saw this movie when it was called Maximum Security. Steve Zahn's character was a cop and Martin Lawrence's character really wanted to be a cop. Martin accused Steve of police brutality, and racial profiling. They then end up working together. It was funny then. Now, watching the trailers, the movie is 90% remade, and i'm not too sure.

The guy hasn't made a single good movie (apart from maybe "Life" with Eddie Murphy, but it's Eddie's movie) and he should be thrown out of Hollywood altogther. He was hilarous in all three of these movies...hmm...maybe that's why they're making sequels to Bad Boys and Blue Streak. The preview for this movie looks great and there's no doubt in my mind that it'll be a smash at the box office.

Can you please tell me what a black man acts like, it would seem to me that you are some sort of expert. If you don't think the guy is funny, then hell that is your opinion. I personally don't think Jim Carey and alot of so call comedian are funny and that is why I don't go and see their movies. I don't sit around writing B-S to say "they should die," or say stereotypical stuff like "Jim Carey being funny is like all other white man trying to be funny."
Also when you are talking about the jokes that are used in a movie, realize that most of the time the actor saying the lines/jokes, did not write it.

Wow. Anyone who hates this movie enough to write this much and end up offending and attacking each other on this board has just made a lot of people go see National Security. Remember, negative publicity many times ends up getting people interested. There are some good points made in all this though. Its true that if the roles were reversed in National Security, it wouldn't have been made, thats obvious. I think Martin Lawrence can be funny as hell, but National Security is preoccupied with the racial "jokes" to the point of draining the humor right out of it. The writers are really to blame here, but Martin did take the job. By the way, there is more in this film besides the jokes about white people. It doesn't do much to make black people look good either, especially where Martin's character is concerned. So blaming Martin is the least of the problem. Look at the people who wrote the script, the things you hear Martin say, as well as the Director and Producers who made the film happen.

someone asked why steve zahn's name not mentioned in the commercials...the reason was that the movie did not do too well with white audiences in the preview...so they decided to specifically target black audiences...so when steve zahn found out about this he took a new director, brought in an editor, and made a new cut to the movie...since Martin Lawrence will release his movie as the "Black Cut", Zahn will relase his as the "Funny Version"...i saw the movie and here are the differences:
the movie starts of pretty much the same up until the part where Steve thinks Martin is trying to break into the car...the bee shows up...Steve takes out his night stick and tries to kill the bee...except here the bee lands on Martin's forehead and Steve takes out his gun and says "Dont Move!" then empties the entire clip on Martins head, killing the bee and Martin....he goes to trial, gets six months, gets out after two...goes to the security firm and goes after the guy who killed his partner...the movie is pretty much the same with Zahn getting more lines and no Martin...
i can't wait for the DVD...wath do u think....!

shareMan, this thread is freaking HILARIOUS! All of this over one little (well, Lawrence IS rather short and I've met him in person) comedian. I'll start off by saying that I am a black man, so my race doesn't enter into the equation. I often find Lawrence's work rather inconsistent. I only liked the first two seasons of his sitcom. I think his stand-up is funny (especially the one he did right after being in the first HOUSE PARTY movie). LIFE was good (and it's just as much his movie as it is Eddie Murphy's), BAD BOYS was passable (I think it's certainly better than if they had went with their original choices: Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz ). From what I saw of it, NOTHING TO LOSE seemed good. However, the less said about BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE, WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN?, BLACK KNIGHT and A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE, the better. I just think that Marty-Mar needs to get his head together before he ends up as a trivia question ("What comedian went on a shooting spree on Sunset Boulevard in . . . ?")
