Ok....did Ashram come back from Chaos or not???

I just watched this today. I liked it, not as much as Lodoss, but I still thought it was pretty good, but I'm a bit confused.

Did Ashram come back? It seemed like he was still in Chaos, but Pirotess was bowing before him, was that just a formality? Was she just being respectful? I guess that's what it was...but I wish he'd just come back...
