Reruns are Back!
Univision decided to bring back the teen soap opera back with their night block of "Grandes Istorias". The novela was a huge hit in mexico back on 2001 and then came out on Univision on the summer of 2001 just months after it's mexican release. the novela is based on 4 young college girls that have to live though their young when suraunded by drugs, lust, and money.
Laura- the smart virgin nice girl of the story. She's a student at a college where the poor is not accepted. She ends up wining a scholar ships and studies there. She ends up dating an old man around his 50s and later learns that she has developed feelings towards her young son. She ends up dating him and loosing her virginity to him. at the end she stays with him with plans of marrige.
Ofelia- is the party girl that loves sex, drugs and parties. her world comes donw shortly after she finds out she has aids. her life becomes a living hell, and she is mis treated by society for having aids. she ends up finding hope after the "uglies" guy of her school finds intrest on her and decideds to show her a new world of love and happines. When she finds out that she might die she decideds to get him a profecional to help him get in shape, give him a new look, and clear up his acne. He ends up becoming the hotest guy in school and they get married. at the end she is told by her docter that she has at least 10 more years to live, so they are happy to have that much time together.
Jimena- is the super rich girl that is best friends with Ofelia. She ends up calming down after she finds out that her best fried has aids (ofelia) she goes from love to love and can't really find out what she really needs. her problem is that her mother died and she wants to fille out something in her heart. she ends up going out with a mexican cowboy, and happy.
Nallely- is the cindirela of the story, she goes from the poorest to the riches with her acting succes. she dreams of someday becoming a super star. Unfortunatly she strugles to get there. she crosses over to the US iligaly and ends up been brough back to mexico. there she makes friends with the other 3 girls and keeps working to get to the acting business. she ends up landing a role on a mexican soap opera and there she becomes famust at the end of the show. with her cars and money she is attacted due to her fame and they kid nap her little sister. later she is brough back and she stays with a famust mexican actor.
at the finally of the novela, the cast excluding Laura (michelle Vieth) are in the group standing and talking about their past and their up comming future. the characters talk and talk and stay awake till the sun comes up, the novela ends right there. since this was such a hit they made a 2 hour special following the characters. it's like their developement on the show and the cast talks about their characters and what they did there.
