Where is this highly recommended? I've never even heard of this film until a few minutes ago, and it looks pretty obscure by the lack of great details on it. Are there any sites that highly recommended it or is there anywhere it has been mentioned quite a bit?
shareIt used to be, and to some degree still is, very well known among those who make, think about, view, and take documentary/non-fiction film seriously.
Unfortunately, the untimely death of the filmmaker and a general lack of the film's availability for viewing for a couple decades has meant that this film has begun to fall through the cracks and be forgotten. Hopefully a restored or near pristine print can be made available on DVD/Blu-Ray/Download with commentaries, extras, and an insightful booklet from a major source such as Criterion or something.
