whos crappy idea was this?

I was just wondering if the filmmakers are acctually proud of themselves? I mean, do they acctually think that this movie will be a good kids movie? I mean, was the producer just sitting around one day smoking a J and then realised that he wanted to make some of that mad scratch thats comming in from MVP and Air Bud? I'm just flabbergasted by this movie and the fact that it exists. It is movies like this that make the general public not take film as a true art form.

I disagree I have been patiently waiting for the theatrical release of this fine piece of midget flop, I almost stopped wetting myself when I first heard about this movie. I can't wait until I watch this bag of hot filth and get the deep and thought provoking message that this film will no doubt provide for me. P.S this is the most anticipated movie of all time, bank on it.

When they showed promos for this my first thought was: This is some kind of belated April's Fools joke right? And then they kept on showing it over and over again. That's when I was like: woah they are actually serrious about this huh? Just when you thought tv movies couldn't get any worse....

It's not so bad. My 7 year old seems to like it. It's not meant to be Shakespear, for Christ's sake.

Okay, the movie wasn't oscar material (it might be these days), but for some reason I watched the whole thing through. When I was young I remember movies like Cloak and Dagger,Goonies, and of course Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and thought they were cool while now I realize they were a bit cheesy. Maybe for kids it was a good movie, I mean it did have a decent cast.

all i can say is, me and my brother laughed so hard when we saw the commercials for it. it looks so bad its hilarious.

Even in their worst moments, TMNT/Goonies were never as bad as Karate Dog. TMNT's surprisingly dark for a kid's flick(just look at those set designs) and actually took it's source material seriously which is probably why it resonated with younger audiences(it didn't treat it's core demographic like morans). Goonies is the ultimate treasure hunt flick. A kid's version of Indiana Jones without the heavy-handed Nazi villains(instead replaced by bumbling criminals - the type of antagonists that would be emulated by the Home Alone franchise a few years later). Yeah, all three films feature absurd concepts but TMNT/Goonies does it with a lot more style and class than Karate Dog. A better 80s comparison would be Mac and Me or the Munchies series. Did any kid ever like those two movies? I sure as hell didn't.

i like this movie

hey! you shut your big mouth when you're talking to me!

The movie isn't a bad movie. IT was nice to watch a movie without having to hear the f word constantly or nudity. Realise it's a kid's movie people. Try sitting with your kids & watching it with them & explaining to the younger ones that it is only a movie & not real. MOre people need to do that. If you didn't enjoy watching this then you are probably the ones who make reality tv shows very popular. Talk about cheesy & unbelievable. The tv sitcoms are just as bad. Wish they would make more of this type of movie.

Though I agree that this film was completely ridiculous and, yes, even stupid, it was meant to be. However, you are completely stupid to say that 'it is movies like this that make the general public not take film as a true art form.' To take film as a true art form, ALL films, including the bad ones, need to be considered. Film making is ALL about each person's individual taste. Even bad art is a true art form, you know. There are people who do like ridiculous, stupid, and in this case somewhat fun films. On the contrary to your statement, it is films like this that make the general public take film as a true art form. If you had any clue whatsoever of what a true art form is, you would understand that it is ALWAYS subjective. This means EVERY film represents a certain true art form. Just because you didn't like the film doesn't mean others didn't, so quit being such a douche and learn about the subjectivity of art. ALL art is subjective. I repeat, it is movies like this that make the general public take film as a true art form.

I am watching it with my niece right now and she is getting bored. I am really surprised to see Jon Voight, Chevy Chase, and Pat Morita in this. I am struggling myself to sit through it. I should have known when my niece showed me the horrible dvd cover what I was getting into...

I'm just a guy that likes horror flicks.
